The Toronto Musculoskeletal Centre (TMC) was established in January 2011 as an extra-departmental unit MSK - EDU of the Faculty of Medicine - University of Toronto. The Centre will facilitate interdisciplinary translational research and education in the broad musculoskeletal field, with a goal to enhance research and education to drive the future of musculoskeletal care from bench to bedside to the community. We are broadly defining the musculoskeletal field, and including areas such as rheumatology, orthopaedics, cell biology, animal models, engineering, epidemiology, physical and occupational therapy, rehabilitation, dentistry, pathology, and imaging. Currently, a potential Graduate Collaborative Program in Musculoskeletal Sciences (CPMS) is pending approval, the CPMS, which will facilitate achieving the Centre's goals is anticipated to start in September 2013.

Mission: Enhance research and education to drive the future of musculoskeletal care from bench to bedside to the community.

Membership: The TMC has an inclusive membership definition and eligibility criteria that includes inter-disciplinary faculty involved in research, education and other scholarly work related to musculoskeletal research at the UofT or at any of its fully- or community- affiliated institutions.
